Die kombinierte Volltext- und Faksimiledatenbank eröffnet den Zugang zu rund 136.000 englisch- und fremdsprachigen Büchern aus allen Fachbereichen, die im 18. Jahrhundert im Vereinigten Königreich veröffentlicht wurden. Die Sammlung beruht auf der Mikrofilm-Edition "The Eighteenth Century", Grundlage der erfassten Werke ist der "Eighteenth Century Short Title Catalogue (ESTC)" der British Library sowie Bestandsnachweise von mehr als 1.500 Universitäten, privaten und öffentlichen Bibliotheken und Sammlungen weltweit. Die rund 26 Millionen digitalisierte Seiten umfassende Datenbank gliedert sich in insgesamt sieben thematische Module, die auch einzeln zu beziehen sind: Allgemeine Nachschlagewerke, Literatur- und Sprachwissenschaft, Geschichte und Geographie, Rechtswissenschaft, Religion und Philosophie, Medizin sowie Naturwissenschaft und Technik. |
