Verlagsinformation :: Publisher's information Taiwan Nichinichi Sinpou was first published in 1898 and was the most long-lasting and widely circulated newspaper in Taiwan during the Japanese Colonialism. At the beginning, the newspaper had 6 pages, and since November 1901, it added two Chinese pages with 8 pages in total. From July 1905, the Chinese pages were expanded and separately published as Chinese Taiwan Nichinichi Sinpou. Six years later, the publication of Chinese Taiwan Nichinichi Sinpou was ceased, and the publisher kept two added Chinese pages to the Japanese version. In April 1937, the Chinese pages were completely removed from the newspaper. The National Taiwan University Library preserves this valuable resource by building a full-text digital archive for its contents with more than 30 million characters. With very careful evaluation, Transmission was chosen to work as a partner to create the metadata for this archive and built a full-text searchable database.
