The IOP Journal Archive is a comprehensive digital collection of all the work published by the Institute between 1874 and 1996. The Institute publishes some of the most significant journals in the physical sciences. The archive offers an essential foundation of knowledge for researchers, representing over 1000 volume years and 125,000 articles of high-quality science from the best authors in their fields.

The archive contains fully searchable PDFs with linked references. High resolution scanning has ensured that the text, data and tables of every article are easy to read. In 2006 the archive covers all content published between 1874 and 1996. Content from the most recent ten years continues to be included with your current subscriptions.

Permanent Purchase Option

The archive is available to buy for a one-time fee. You can either load content locally or have permanent rights to view the data through the IOP web server. Customers interested in this option can choose to pay in up to five instalments.

Annual Subscription Option

The archive is also available as an annual subscription. In 2006 we added over 6,000 articles, including the complete archive for Metrologia, bringing the total number of articles to over 125,000.
