The collection spans 34,400 articles of historical papers and includes the seminal titles Archiv der Pharmazie and the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences. These thirteen journals recount the pioneering research that shaped the disciplines from their infancy. Founded in 1822 Archiv der Pharmazie was, like many of the world's oldest and most renowned journals, published in German, the lingua franca of the scientific community. To date this journal remains devoted to original research papers in all fields of pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry. Since 1911 the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences has set the standard for research in pharmaceutical science, espousing such topics as: the chemical stability of drugs, pharmacokinetics, biopharmaceutics, pharmacodynamics, pro-drug developments, metabolic disposition of bioactive agents, protein-peptide chemistry and biotechnology specifically as these relate to pharmaceutical technology, and targeted drug delivery.
