Verlagsinformation :: Publisher's information The former Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Yearbooks have become part of the Chinese Research Perspectives series. As before the focus will be on the six research areas of the CASS Yearbooks: economy, education, environment, law, population and labor, and society. The new volumes will no longer be strictly organized on an annual basis. Rather, the selection of contributions will cover developments in China of particular interest to a Western (non-Chinese speaking) audience and will occasionally differ from the Chinese-language yearbooks. The volumes will continue to provide Western readers with firsthand insights into the discussions of China's top scholars on contemporary issues in their country. As with the CASS Yearbooks, the original versions of these volumes are published in China by Social Sciences Academic Press (SSAP), the publishing wing of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), and are edited principally by leading researchers from CASS and other top research institutions and universities. The selection of contributions for the English-language Chinese Research Perspectives series and the translations of those volumes are supervised by Western editorial boards. The former CASS Yearbooks and the new Research Perspectives titles are now developed into an online, full-text searchable reference work, that provides interested scholars, students and policy makers with up-to-date information, data and debates on contemporary issues in China. |
