It is the second project in our new Routledge Historical Resources online programme, which has been specially designed to help students and academics with their research and study. The resource covers the fascinating subject of the history of economic thought over the period 1700–1914. It contains an extensive range of primary and secondary resources, including full books, selected chapters, and journal articles, as well as new thematic essays, and subject introductions on key themes. There is also a video introduction to the subject from Heinz D. Kurz, one of the academic editors of the History of Economic Thought. Our rich metadata at chapter and article level makes searching for material efficient and effective. Users can refine searches by content type, subject, current of thought, period, notable figure and contributor as well as conduct key word searches. Content is arranged by categories, each with its own subject introduction to assist research and study, and newly commissioned thematic essays have been included to provide an insightful overview and excellent starting point to vital topics and thinkers in the History of Economic Thought. The resource focuses on the period 1700-1914, however many of the primary source collections extend beyond this period. Content Types Journal articles - Journal articles have been specifically chosen from Taylor & Francis journals in order to compliment the focus of the resource. Primary Source Collections - Our Primary Source Collections mainly consist of sets of volumes from our Routledge Major Works programme and the Pickering & Chatto collection which we acquired in 2015. These are edited collections of primary source documents that contain new introductions and editorial notes. Many of these are available here for the first time electronically. Whilst some of the primary source collections can be read directly on the site, others can be read on a PDF viewer. This is because many of the primary source collections contain facsimile content. Secondary Source Chapters - The secondary book chapters included in the resource are derived from a wide range of text types, including monographs and handbooks. Where only part of the book is relevant to the History of Economic Thought resource and time period we cover, only the relevant chapters are included. Thematic Essays - The Thematic Essays have been commissioned especially for this resource and offer readers an insightful overview of key thinkers and topics within the History of Economic Thought. Introductions to Subjects and Currents of Thought - These introductions have been designed to provide users with an overview of the 12 main subject areas and 8 currents of thought covered. Written by our academic editors, each introduction explains what the categories cover and make interesting reading suggestions. Academic Editors Gilbert Faccarello (Preofessor Emeritus of Economics at Panthéon-Assas University, Paris, France). Heinz D. Kurz (Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Graz, Austria and fellow of the Graz Schumpeter Centre). As Academic Editors of this resource, Gilbert and Heinz have acted as advisors on the works included, the areas covered, and the way in which the content is organised.
