Inhalt :: Content Umfassendes, interdisziplinäres Standardnachschlagewerk zur griechischen Sprache und Sprachwissenschaft mit rund 800 ausführlichen Beiträgen und 1.400 Kurzbeiträgen von über 400 internationalen Fachwissenschaftlern, in denen die sprachliche Entwicklung vom Ur-Griechischen (ca. 2000 v. Chr.) bis zum heutigen Griechisch behandelt wird. Die Beiträge decken ein breites Spektrum von Themen ab, wie das Griechische verschiedener Quellen (Texte, Manuskripte, Inschriften, Lesetraditionen), wichtige grammatikalische Merkmale (Phonologie, Morphologie und Syntax), Lexikon, Schrift und Paläographie: Ferner verschiedene theoretische linguistische Ansätze, wie Computerlinguistik, Übersetzungs- und Rezeptionsgeschichte und Einfluss auf westliche Sprachen, aber auch Wechselwirkungen zwischen der Linguistik und anderen verwandten Disziplinen, wie Philologie, Mythologie, Religion, Kultur und Poetik. Rund 65 % des Inhalts sind völlig neu, während die restlichen 35 % aus überarbeiteten und erweiterten Einträgen aus der Encyclopedia of Ancient Greek Language and Linguistics (EAGLL) Online bestehen. Das Werk ist im April 2024 mit 25 % seines Gesamtinhalts an den Start gegangen. Die restlichen Inhalte werden schrittweise bis zur Fertigstellung (voraussichtlich 2026) veröffentlicht. Die 8 Bände umfassende Printausgabe ist für 2026 geplant.

Publishing schedule The Encyclopedia of Greek Language and Linguistics Online was launched in April 2024 with 25% of its total content. The remaining content will be published gradually until completion (expected for 2026). When completed, it will comprise around 800 main entries with over 1,400 subentries in a total of about 3 million words. A print version (consisting of 8 volumes) is scheduled for 2026.
