Inhalt :: Content Online-Service mit Zugang zu sämtlichen Ausgaben der englischsprachigen Wochenzeitschrift The Japan Times Weekly & Trans-Pacific, die in der Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts in Japan herausgegeben wurde. Entstanden aus der Fusion und engen Zusammenarbeit zwischen der traditionsreichen The Japan Times (gegründet 1897) und dem Magazin The Trans-Pacific fungierte das Magazin als internationale Ergänzung zur Tageszeitung The Japan Times. Das Magazin war darauf ausgerichtet, ein internationales Publikum über die Entwicklungen in Japan und Ostasien zu informieren. Die Schwerpunkte lagen auf: Politik und Diplomatie (Berichterstattung über Japans Rolle in der Welt), Wirtschaft (Handelsbeziehungen im pazifischen Raum (daher der Name „Trans-Pacific“) und Kultur (Einblicke in die japanische Gesellschaft, Kunst und Traditionen für westliche Leser). Abgedeckter Zeitraum: 1938–1941. |
