Brepolis Bibliographies - Perspecti Citation Plugin (PCP)

In verschiedene geisteswissenschaftliche BREPOLiS-Bibliographien integriertes bibliometrisches Werkzeug, das klassische Zitationsdaten (Zitierhäufigkeiten und Verweise) in Fachdatenbanken bereitstellt, in denen solche Metriken traditionell schwer zu erfassen waren. Das Tool erfasst systematisch nicht nur Zeitschriftenaufsätze, sondern über direktes Footnote-Mining auch Monographien, Sammelbände, Festschriften und Buchkapitel und wertet Veröffentlichungen in zahlreichen Sprachen und auch von kleineren oder mittleren Verlagen aus.

Das Tool ist sowohl in den Trefferlisten als auch auf den detaillierten Titelseiten der Datenbanken sichtbar und zeigt direkt in der Trefferliste als Zahl an, wie oft eine Publikation in anderen wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten zitiert wurde. Auf der Detailseite eines Datensatzes listet das Plugin die genauen bibliographischen Angaben der Publikationen auf, die den Text zitieren. Nutzer können dadurch leichter nachvollziehen, wie eine Forschungsarbeit in der Fachwelt aufgenommen wurde und welche nachfolgenden Debatten oder Ergänzungen es dazu gibt. Die Zitationsdaten des Plugins stammen aus Perspecti, einer von Brepols aufgebauten Infrastruktur für Metadaten in den Geisteswissenschaften.

Das Plugin ist für die wichtigsten Fachbibliographien auf der BREPOLiS-Plattform verfügbar und kann im Rahmen eines Jahresabonnements bezogen werden:

Starting December 2025, Brepolis Bibliographies include citation information through a new citation plugin. This tool is available in the hitlist and on the record page, providing the total number of citations along with the bibliographical details of the citing publications.

Although the number of citations included in this initial release is still limited, this is expected to increase significantly in the coming months. For now, most citations will be drawn from journals and books published between 2020 and 2024. Newly registered citations will be added monthly.



The citation data are sourced from Perspecti, Brepols’ upcoming database on research in the Humanities, which aims to collect and link various types of publication metadata. With the release of citation details through the new bibliographies plugin, Perspecti is presenting its initial findings.

All users of Brepolis bibliographies can access the number of citations, as well as the details of the two most recent citations. For comprehensive access to all registered citation details, Brepols offers an additional subscription option.
